  • About the Job

    Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, the Finance Analyst will work closely with the Senior Finance Analyst and the activity managers, PMO and management team of an assigned Group. They are responsible for conducting a range of activities including budgeting, modelling, forecasting, analysis and reporting. The role will monitor actual outcomes and variances against budget and/or forecasts. This role also provides first line support/cover for the Senior Finance Analyst.

    What you will be doing

    • Working with the Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Analyst to provide value added support, financial review and challenge to specific Groups.
    • Assist with closing out the month end accounts in line with governance frameworks.
    • Working with the Senior Finance Analyst to provide assurance of financial accuracy and completeness.
    • Supporting the Senior Finance Analyst with the review and development of business cases.
    • Contributing to and assisting with the preparation of monthly Group Reporting packs to include financial analysis and commentaries for inclusion in the Packs.
    • Setting up and producing consistent and structured reporting, undertake monthly analysis of financial results, supporting the Senior Finance Analyst in meetings with cost centre managers to review variances and drive efficiencies in reporting and processes.
    • In conjunction with the Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Analyst, support and develop annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and longer term strategic financial plans in line with overall timelines and requirements.
    • Working with the Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Analyst in support of the Group’s portfolio of work.
    • Support the team to ensure document management, process guidelines and framework documents are up to date and compliant.
    • Provide cover for team members within the Business Planning & Reporting Team as required.
    • Completion of ad-hoc projects and analytical reviews as required.

    Desirable Skills / Experience

    • Prior management accounting and financial planning and analysis experience.
    • Experience of working with and reporting from financial systems.
    • Knowledge and appreciation of reporting good practice with skills in designing and producing reports in a variety of output formats e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Word
    • Knowledge of SAP and SAP BI



    • A graduate about to start a relevant accountancy qualification or who has started studying either ACA, ACCA, CIMA or other relevant finance qualification, with a commitment to complete studies.
    • Graduate calibre.
