This apprenticeship opportunity will see you provide support to the Financial Economics team through applying modelling and data analysis techniques. The Financial Economics team is a team of financial analysts, accountants and economic modellers that sits in Ofcom’s Competition Group and ensures that Ofcom’s decisions are informed by robust financial and economic insight and advice. The Competition Group has responsibility for a number of areas of regulation and enforcement on providers of telecoms, broadcasting and postal services.
We are looking for a data analyst apprentice to contribute to our decision making process by providing analysis relating to key issues in Ofcom’s work programme. This is an opportunity to work in areas that have a real impact on the UK economy and the lives of the people living in the UK. The apprentice should have an interested in learning about the communications sector and learning new ways of thinking about data. In addition to the apprenticeship training, Ofcom offers an extensive internal training programme that the apprentice would have the opportunity to access. Alongside working in the Competition Group, the apprentice would have opportunities to experience placements in other Ofcom groups in order to experience the full range of work that we undertake.
We expect the apprenticeship to last for 24 months with the option of transitioning to a permanent role at Ofcom assuming satisfactory performance
Examples of recent projects undertaken by the Financial Economics team
3 A-levels with at least one in a numerate discipline.
The successful candidate will be provided with the opportunity to complete a fully certified Level 4 data analysis apprenticeship.
