As a senior PA you will be supporting our Group Director in our Consumer Group.

What you will be doing

  • Proactive management of the Group Director’s diary, assessing priorities of meetings and making all administrative and travel arrangements
  • Commission briefings for stakeholder meetings and assist with the preparation, collation and printing of meeting papers
  • Using initiative to respond to enquiries to aid their resolution and pre-empting difficulties before they get to Group Director
  • Use an effective brought forward system to ensure that deadlines are met
  • Undertake general secretarial duties, including drafting of letters, presentations and other documents; maintaining filing structures; ordering stationery etc.
  • Taking actions/minutes of departmental meetings as required
  • Undertake basic research eg internet searches, collating background information
  • Undertaking project work as appropriate

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Extensive experience in co-ordinating internal and external meetings, with the ability of manage last minute changes
  • Committed to high quality, rapid and timely completion of work
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times
  • Produce written documents, such as letters, reports and emails, giving a clear, logical presentation
  • Active and positive team player, takes ownership to ensure issue resolution within the team
  • Adept with dealing with people at all levels – external and internal
  • Organise and prioritise own workload, balance conflicting priorities by anticipating potential workload issues
  • Using own judgement in taking the initiative, and being proactive in dealing with issues as appropriate;
  • Assertive in achieving goals
  • Calm under pressure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other software packages used in Ofcom
  • Appreciation of and desire to promote Ofcom's values of excellence, agility, empowerment and collaboration

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Has an interest and understanding of the issues facing the team and an awareness of the goals and current issues of the Consumer Group
